Wahay! The pubs are opening once again. It won't be long now until we can spend the evenings talking shite with our pals whilst drinking draught beer and a few drams.
As from 26th April, assuming the data allows it - keep everything crossed - travel within all of mainland Scotland will be permitted and pubs will be able to serve alcohol outdoors (brrr, wrap up; it's Scotland after all) until 10pm. Then, again as long as the data allows, pubs and bars will be able to reopen to serve alcohol indoors from 17th May.
So, where's best for a dram?
There are, of course, a whole bunch of bars and pubs in Edinburgh with a decent whisky selection. So, this isn't designed to be a definitive list; just a wee guide to give a shout out to some of my favourite haunts.
If you're an Edinburgh resident, you may be familiar with some or all of these. But there may be some you've overlooked. If you're planning to visit Edinburgh some time soon and you're looking for the best place for a dram, hopefully this will give you the heads up.
